The BIG climb

“If it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you” is one of the many quotes on the way up the Hakarimatas (stairs of death / hike)… and if you think about it, it is so true! We won’t change unless we are pushed to our limits, otherwise we get stuck with life is as we know it and we won’t take risks. A challenge only makes you stronger because what you learn from a life challenge can be so important and unforgettable that the lessons stay with you forever.

Yes, this is what was going through my mind as I took each step on like the challenge that it was. 2.7 kms of non stop steps going up! (I have photo proof!)

Another quote was “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step” This one really made me think. If you take that first step or that leap of faith, then who knows where it will lead you!? The path ahead is not written yet, but it starts to get written with that first step. That first step could change everything! You just don’t know until you actually take it!

For me the first step was one of many to the top, and a lot of thinking time in between… But I have come out the other side better off for it. And a bit tired, sore and kind of thirsty. BUT I DID IT!

Take the first step of the journey, your journey will be amazing. It will have ups and downs but it will be amazing. Remember, if it doesn’t challenge you then it won’t change you. Take the first challenging step and watch it change you for the better
